Getting Spooky!!!

Anna and Seth had their Halloween Parties at school today. Anna dressed as a ladybug, same as last year. Seth was a giraffe. This is actually his second year as a giraffe, but he doesn't remember the first year because he was only 1!

It sure was cute seeing all the kids in their costumes. Some were really excited about it....some not so excited.

I'm not sure what they talked about in school today because on the way home in the car Anna commented to me when we went past a cemetary, "Mom those boxes are where dead people are and the boxes have their names on them".

We'll see how the trick or treating goes tomorrow!

Happy Birthday Jason

We just celebrated Jason and Jeremy's birthday on Sunday. His Mom and Dad, Jeremy, sister Jenny, and nieces Lexi and Kyli came over. We watched the Vikings (they won!), had chocolate cake, and went to IHOP for supper. It was a good day, even though the service at IHOP was terrible!

Neighbors

Anna and Seth have been having fun playing with the "big boys" at the end of the cul-de-sac. 14 year old twin boys. Apparently when Jason went down there last night to get them they were playing catch with an....egg! Seems that the dad is kind of unique. He told Jason that he'll buy a carton of eggs and then hardboil most of them. Then they'll play catch with them. Most of the time it will be a hardboiled one, so no mess, last night though it turned out not to be so one of the boys got icky hands when the egg finally broke!

We got a pumpkin from the neighbor guy right across the street from us. The kids were out riding their bikes and I was picking Anna up off the street after she wiped out in the slippery leaves. He told me that if I had the kids bring over a wagon he would give them a pumpkin. Apparently he has some land out of town that he doesn't like to weed so he planted pumpkins this year. He had enough to give to all the kids in the neighborhood.

Fall Colors

Wow! It really feels and looks like Fall today! Anna and Seth noticed when walking into school that the ivy on the building is changing color. Soon we will have many, many leaves to rake!

Speaking of school...they both had homework again today. I sure need to be on my toes in the morning! Anna had to bring something that starts with "A". She chose an alligator, although she did think it was funny when I told her that she should just bring herself because her name starts with "A" already. Seth had to wear the color red. He was all decked out in red sweatpants, a red Spiderman shirt, and a red sweatshirt. I could pick out all the other kids in his class as we were waiting for the doors to open!

Apple Orchard

Yesterday Anna and Seth went on a field trip to the apple orchard. Seth was very excited for his first trip on a big yellow school bus! They each brought home a bag of apples. They also got to see some animals: goats, chickens, and a "cock a doodle doo".
